Welcome to Grade 2

Hi!  My name is Lisa Gabriele, and I will be teaching second grade this year.  I have been a teacher in the Belleville School System for many years as a grade two, three, and four classroom teacher, and also as a Basic Skills teacher. As a Basic Skills teacher, I have helped students in grades one through five in reading and math.  I am very excited to be teaching second grade and am looking forward to a great year. 

This year we will be using the enVision series for math and My World Interactive for social studies.  In language arts, we will continue to use the McGraw Hill Wonder Series, and in science, we are utilizing HMH Science Dimensions. Please look for instructions on how to log on to the websites for reading and mathematics so that you may view what we are working on in the classroom and help your child at home. Other ways to support your child at home, in addition to completing homework, include reading together every night for enjoyment, practicing basic adding and subtraction facts, and keeping a journal to improve writing skills.
